Donating Collections or Materials to the Archives
The Inez Moore Parker Archives and Research Center welcomes additions to its collections and holdings, especially unpublished personal papers and organizational records such as correspondence, diaries, photographs, scrapbooks, and research files that complement the mission of the Archives to collect material related to the history of JCSU, the Historic West End, and the African American experience in Charlotte, N.C.
If you have an item or collection you would like the Archives to consider for donation, please contact the University Archivist and Digital Manager at bdlunsford@jcsu.edu or (704) 371-6741. Our gift agreement can be viewed below, and will be sent to you after you contact the Archives. This form transfers legal custody of the materials to the Inez Moore Parker Archives and Research Center and also prescribes donation conditions and (if any) restrictions on the material. In cases of larger donation opportunities, the University Archivist may come and review the material to see if space restrictions and collecting emphasis will allow the Archives to house the collection.
General information on donating materials is available online in the form of two brochures published by the Society of American Archivists: https://www2.archivists.org/publications/brochures/donating-familyrecs and https://www2.archivists.org/publications/brochures/donating-orgrecs
